To Whom It May Concern

Initially working with a draughtsman in 2015, our building journey commenced the following year with the vision of building our “dream home” on one of our 2 Moffat Beach blocks.  This was to be followed by a second investment build a short time later.  After putting our plans for our dream home to a few builders, we were quickly disillusioned with the building process after receiving extravagant building quotes, discovering unethical practices and an all too blaze attitude by other  builders so we decided to put off this build and to progress with our investment build.  

We engaged a mid-sized project builder to build a medium to high-end investment property.  It was at this time that we met both Josh and Cody Jacobi as they had been subcontracted as “chippies” by the building company.  Though we were appointed a Foreman, Josh and Cody quickly became our trouble shooters and we would liaise with them on a daily basis.  What struck us most about Josh and Cody was their attention to detail and what appeared to be a down-to-earth family attitude to the build.  This was further highlighted when on completion of the build (which we were very happy with), Josh offered to assist us on weekends with our retaining walls, steps and fences as these had not been included in our build price.

Some months later, with added knowledge of the building game, we decided to proceed with our second build – our dream home.  The building plans were put out to several builders including our investment home builder and Josh as Elevated By Design.  The variance in quotes was in excess of $100,000.  Elevated by Design were not the cheapest quote – but they were a long way off the most expensive.  Armed with the confidence in their workmanship and the relationship we developed during our first build, we elected to proceed with Elevated By Design. 

This build was for a complex architecturally designed high-end construction – this build on a 405sqm allotment was not going to be straightforward.  The “boys” took this in their stride and as issues (and improvements) were identified we were promptly notified and they would provide us with multiple cost-effective solutions.  There were areas in the house, that prior to construction the finish had not been identified and it was decided that this would be finalised when we reached that stage.  As a result this house now contains many Josh and Cody “signature” items which we view as improvements and we couldn’t be happier.  

Elevated By Design Homes is a family business with Josh and Cody on the tools and Emma (Josh’s wife) in Administration.  As with our previous build, the Jacobi’s made us feel as if we were family and that they were determined that we were going to get the home we hoped for.  There are no middle-men or ridiculous variances – you deal directly with the builder and his team, armed with the confidence that they are not going to rip you off.  

The flexibility, knowledge and ethics that Josh and Cody bring to a building site is incredibly reassuring.  We love our Elevated by Design construction and have happily recommended them to many others.
